Professor Masahiko Fujimoto, the Director of the Regional Innovation Research Center
(RIRC), received Tohoku Univ. President’s Education Award 2023 (FY) for carrying out two
reskilling education programs, that is to say, the RIPS (Regional Innovation Producers
School) which fosters local businesses and supports the creation of new businesses and
the RIAS (Regional Innovation Advisors School) which trains employees of regional
financial institutions that support businesses.
Both the RIPS and the RIAS programs have contributed to the promotion of Tohoku
University’s reskilling education and to the revitalization of the local economy.
