BET Program 2016 Day 5!

Today was the climax of the BET Program!

Although the Thai students had some signs of fatigueness, but still they are eager to concentrate and listened to the lectures !

BET Program 2016 Day 4!

Day 4 was a day which concentrated on business lectures. Using the free time, four interesting projects were carried out.

A Thai Tea Tasting Session will be going on tomorrow in front of the Common Space, so everyone please do not hesitate to join us!

BET Program 2016 Day 3!

Day 3 was not just about lectures, but it was also a day filled with a visit to Aoba Castle and culture experience through Kendo. Some students from Chulalongkorn Business School had their own projects to do, for example interview sessions of Thai restaurants in Sendai and some fieldwork.

It was a fruitful day which started with Japanese language class, lecture about the iconic anime of Studio Ghibli's and its product development workshop, ikebana experience and performance calligraphy.

BET Program has kicked-off!

From today onwards 14 students from Chulalongkorn Business School will be attending lectures related to business in Tohoku University, and participating in field work trip for around 10 days.

Everyone will be doing interviews and surveys in campus with issues related to culture of Japan and Thailand.

Ms. Inaba Mayuka started off with internship in PR company and modelling agency in New York during undergraduate studies. After graduation she worked for an advertisement agency Asatsu-DK Inc. as a PR/event producer and account executive for 6 years.In 2014, she moved to New York with the ambition to export Japanese traditional cutures, products, and contents worldwide. Her recent work is making events held in U.S. presented by Japanese corporate and government as a producer of Empire Entertainment Inc.

DIEE `s first cooking event, Global Cooking Studio was held at KItayama Citizen Center on the 17th December!

We invited international students to teach us home-cooked dishes from their countries.

African Moroccan chicken, Italian authentic carbonara pasta, tuna pasta, chinese hot pot, and a variety of dishes with unique aroma were placed on the table.

There were around 40 participants consisted of International students and Japanese students, interaction of cultures were possible while enjoying delicious food.

The second cooking event is being planned due to its popularity. We are looking forward to your participation!

International Oasis has conducted an event called `Learn from Prospective International Student Employee! About Job Hunting in Japan` for international students on the 16th December.

This year students that are prospective employee in several major manufacturers and financial services companies were invited, and students employment symposium was carried out.

Sharing session about job hunting and Q&A session were done with students that are starting their job hunting, secret and techniques to be a prospective employee were shared.

Participants were able to get many hints about employment in Japan, and get some advice from seniors regarding their failure or opinion.

Job hunting workshop `Job Interview by Senior` on 18th December is in preparation.

As part of Global Leadership Program, the first career seminar `Sharing Session with Senior` was conducted.

Senior`s own experience and his advice to the current students of Tohoku University were made.

Participants were able to get meaningful insights on job hunting, and the needs of education.

We will be holding a briefing session of exchange programs available by the Faculty of Economics and Graduate School of Economics and Management with partner universities.

At the same time, the well-received (PBL) Overseas Field Work Program 2016 Spring Enrollment will be held as well.

It is definitely a great opportunity to improve language skills in foreign countries, know about the culture, and get more information about study abroad. Preparations are needed to study abroad.

Welcome Party!

Welcome Party for new students from Faculty of Economics was held with japanese tutors and faculty staffs at the Common Space, Multidisciplinary Research Building.

Coffee Hour was first introduced, followed by activities of Division of International Education and Exchange (DIEE). A sharing session was done by a student about his wonderful experience with his Japanese tutor, and it was a great atmosphere.

Information exchange and international interaction were made possible between experience exchange program students and students that are going abroad to study.
